All three of my children were named after the guardian tree, outside the three different homes they were born in. My middle daughter got the Cornish for apple as her middle name (Avalene). Here is a wee sphere, carved from a branch that came from her aged  tree, after a high wind (she's lucky I didn't call her Granny Smith!) The overflowing copper was inspired by a liverwort like plant growing near my studio. The stone is a sedimentary rock, the cracks and checks flooded by later volcanic flows.
